Advantages Of Using DSL Networking Routers

DSL networking routers are devices that network high speed cable or DSL internet connection. The Cable/DSL router allows you to share your high speed internet connection to many computers, using only one IP (internet protocol) address. Many high speed internet services charge additional fees for two or more IP addresses, so using a router can save a lot of money, especially if you are managing a small business with many computers that need internet access.

DSL networking routers use a process called network address translation (NAT) to act as a gateway for multiple computers to the internet. NAT provides security features such as firewall for internet connections. A DSL Router fits into your network right after your cable modem/DSL modem. An ethernet cable will plug into your router from your cable/DSL modem into the WAN port on the router. Some of the companies who manufacture dsl routers are Belkin, Netgear, D-Link, Linksys, Cisco etc.
