Linksys, a division of Cisco Systems, Inc., and the leading global manufacturer of broadband, wireless, and networking hardware for home, Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) and small business environments, has shipped more than 25 million wireless routers since the company launched its first wireless router in January 2001. Linksys is currently the worldwide leader in SOHO shipments of wireless routers according to the Dell Oro Group, an industry research company.

Linksys started the setup process of a wireless router with a simple web-browser based user install method of configuring the router and then moved to provide an install CD that walked the customer through the set up and configuration. Linksys built on the success of the install method and CD and introduced Secure Easy Setup that helped configure the router security and installation through a push of a button on the router. Recently Linksys has improved the user experience further by developing a software application called Linksys.
